You will assist with bathing, grooming, mobility, vital signs, and documentation, while ensuring safety and quality of care. CNA certification and ongoing education are required, with potential driving responsibilities depending on facility policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum age of 16; prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
• Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position.
• Satisfactorily completes yearly department specific competency testing and maintains continuing education credits (minimum 12 hours annually).
• May be classified as Sanford Category II Driver depending on facility and must have a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under RN supervision.
• Assist with bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, and recording vital signs.
• Assist residents with transfers, repositioning, walking, and range of motion exercises.
• Assist with meals, hydration, and nutrition; maintain a positive dining experience for residents.
• Document resident interactions, communicate changes to charge nurse, and support wellness and recreational programs.
