Job summary

Good Samaritan in Canistota, SD is seeking a Nursing Assistant (NA) to provide resident-centered care in a long-term care setting. You will work under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN) to deliver daily living assistance, monitor vital signs, and support residents with mobility, bathing, grooming and feeding.

Qualifications include CNA certification or active enrollment in a program, minimum age 16, and 12 hours of annual continuing education.

Qualifications

• Must have CNA certification with the State Board of Nursing, or be enrolled in a training program to obtain certification within four months.
• Minimum age of 16; prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
• Satisfactorily completes yearly department-specific competency testing and maintains continuing education credits (minimum 12 hours annually).
• May be classified as a Sanford Category II Driver requiring a motor vehicle report and valid driver's license where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under RN supervision.
• Assist with transferring, repositioning, and mobility using correct techniques and equipment.
• Assist with meals, water, and supplements and create a positive dining experience.
• Document resident interactions and communicate changes to the charge nurse.

Education

CNA certification
