Job summary

Vibra Healthcare in Rapid City, SD seeks a Certified Nursing Assistant for full-time night shifts on a 12-hour schedule. You will support licensed nursing staff by performing ADLs, maintaining hygiene and safety, and documenting care activities.

The role emphasizes infection control and patient comfort while responding to emergencies as needed. Qualified candidates hold a high school diploma or equivalent, a current CNA certification, and BLS within six months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years of Nurse Aide experience or relevant experience considered in lieu of education.
• Current, valid CNA certification to practice as a Nursing Assistant in the state of employment is required.
• BLS certification from Vibra-approved vendor required within six months of date of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed nursing personnel in patient care by performing activities of daily living and documenting them.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and infection-controlled environment; assist with basic nutrition and hydration responsibilities.
• Recognize emergencies and respond appropriately.

Located in Rapid City, South Dakota, the Rehabilitation and Critical Care Hospital of the Black Hills is equipped with 36 inpatient medical rehabilitation beds and 18 long-term acute care beds. As a new cornerstone of specialized care in the region, our hospital uniquely combines two levels of care under one roof. This integrated approach allows us to offer comprehensive care solutions for patients who’ve suffered a range of debilitating injuries, illnesses, surgeries, and chronic medical conditions. At the Rehabilitation and Critical Care Hospital of the Black Hills, we are dedicated to delivering advanced treatments and compassionate care to help our patients recover and regain their independence.

Responsibilities

Provides assistance to licensed nursing personnel in the provision of patient care by providing and documenting activities of daily living, including personal hygiene and grooming, and providing a clean, healthy and safe environment. Utilizes basic infection control procedures, basic nutrition and fluid intake skills. Recognizes emergency situations and responds.

Required Skills:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two (2) years of experience as a Nurse Aide or other relevant experience in lieu of education will be considered.
• Current, valid, and active certification to practice as a Nursing Assistant as applicable in the state of employment required.
• BLS certification from a Vibra-approved vendor is required within six months of date of hire.

Additional Qualifications/Skills:

• Acute care/LTAC experience preferred.
• Ability to project a professional image.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
• Strong organizational, prioritizing and analytical skills.
• Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
• Working knowledge of computer and software applications used in job functions.
