Job summary

Central Queens Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in New York is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to support Residents with daily living activities, monitor health, and assist with feeding and hygiene. You will document intake, report changes to nursing staff, and help maintain a clean, safe, and compassionate care environment.

The role requires NY CNA certification, teamwork, strong communication, and flexibility for varied shifts, including evenings and weekends, in a busy clinical

Qualifications

• Current and valid NY CNA certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist Residents with daily living activities, including meals, turning and ambulating residents and providing fluids and nourishment.
• Assist patients with bathing, dressing, grooming and personal hygiene.
• Observe Residents and report health issues to the supervising nurse.
• Monitor and record vital signs and report changes to staff.
• Provide basic life support and respond to emergencies.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment following infection control protocols.
• Assist with procedures and documentation in the electronic health record SigmaCare.
• Document Resident food and fluid intake and assist with feeding as needed.
• Make beds and keep living areas tidy; transport Residents within the facility.
• Support nurses and other staff and adhere to facility policies.

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist Residents with daily living activities, to include, delivering meals, turning and ambulating residents and providing plenty of fluids and nourishment meals throughout scheduled shift

• Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming

• Help Residents with personal hygiene

• Observe Residents and report any health issues to the supervising nurse

• Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure

• Provide basic life support as needed and respond promptly to patient emergencies.

• Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to infection control protocols

• Assist nursing staff with medical procedures and documentation using electronic health record systems such as SigmaCare

• Document Resident food and fluid intake

• Assist Residents with feeding and serving nutritional supplements

• Making the Resident's beds and keeping their living areas clean and tidy

• Transport Residents within the facility

• Assist nurses and other staff as needed

• Adhere to professional standards and follow all facility policies and procedures

• Abide by all federal, state and local requirements and standards

• Maintain the confidentiality of all Residents and Facility data

• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure continuity of care

• Participate in training sessions and continuing education to enhance skills and knowledge in patient care

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Qualifications and Skills:

• Current and Valid NY CNA certification

• Experience in caregiving or patient care settings is highly desirable

• Familiarity with electronic health record systems SigmaCare is a plus

• Ability to work effectively within a team environment while also demonstrating independence when necessary
