Job summary

Central Queens Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to deliver high-quality resident care in a hospital-like nursing facility setting.

You will assist with daily activities, monitor health, and collaborate with the nursing team to ensure safety and comfort for residents. EHR documentation using SigmaCare is expected, with flexibility for shifts.

Qualifications

• Current NY CNA certification is required.
• Experience in caregiving or patient care settings is desirable.
• Familiarity with SigmaCare EHR is a plus.
• Ability to work in a team and also independently when needed.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and strong observation skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist Residents with daily living activities including meals, mobility, and hydration.
• Support residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene.
• Observe and report health changes to supervising staff.
• Measure and record vital signs as directed.
• Maintain infection control and safe environment.
• Assist with nursing procedures and documentation in SigmaCare.
• Assist with feeding and meal services; document intake.
• Transport residents within the facility and support transfer processes.
• Abide by facility policies and maintain resident confidentiality.
• Participate in training and continuing education for patient care.

Job description

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist Residents with daily living activities, to include, delivering meals, turning and ambulating residents and providing plenty of fluids and nourishment meals throughout scheduled shift
• Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming
• Help Residents with personal hygiene
• Observe Residents and report any health issues to the supervising nurse
• Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure
• Provide basic life support as needed and respond promptly to patient emergencies.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to infection control protocols
• Assist nursing staff with medical procedures and documentation using electronic health record systems such as SigmaCare
• Document Resident food and fluid intake
• Assist Residents with feeding and serving nutritional supplements
• Making the Resident's beds and keeping their living areas clean and tidy
• Transport Residents within the facility
• Assist nurses and other staff as needed
• Adhere to professional standards and follow all facility policies and procedures
• Abide by all federal, state and local requirements and standards
• Maintain the confidentiality of all Residents and Facility data
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure continuity of care
• Participate in training sessions and continuing education to enhance skills and knowledge in patient care

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Qualifications and Skills:

• Current and Valid NY CNA certification
• Experience in caregiving or patient care settings is highly desirable
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems SigmaCare is a plus
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment while also demonstrating independence when necessary
