Job summary

Central Queens Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide compassionate daily living support to residents. You will assist with meals, bathing, mobility, vital signs, and documentation, respond to emergencies, and maintain a clean, safe environment following infection control protocols.

Proficiency with SigmaCare EHR is a plus. The ideal candidate holds a current NY CNA certification, works well in a team and independently, and communicates

Qualifications

• Current and valid NY CNA certification.
• Experience in caregiving or patient care settings preferred.
• Familiarity with SigmaCare or similar EHR is a plus.
• Ability to work in a team and independently when needed.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist Residents with daily living activities, including meals and hygiene.
• Observe Residents and report health issues to the supervising nurse.
• Monitor and record vital signs such as temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure.
• Maintain infection control and keep patient areas clean.
• Provide feeding assistance and document intake.
• Collaborate with nursing staff and use SigmaCare for documentation.
• Transport Residents within the facility.
• Assist nurses and other staff as needed.
• Adhere to professional standards and facility policies and procedures.
• Abide by federal, state and local requirements and standards.
• Maintain confidentiality of all Residents and Facility data.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure continuity of care.
• Participate in training sessions and continuing education to enhance skills and knowledge in patient care.

Job description

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist Residents with daily living activities, to include, delivering meals, turning and ambulating residents and providing plenty of fluids and nourishment meals throughout scheduled shift

• Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming

• Help Residents with personal hygiene

• Observe Residents and report any health issues to the supervising nurse

• Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure

• Provide basic life support as needed and respond promptly to patient emergencies.

• Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to infection control protocols

• Assist nursing staff with medical procedures and documentation using electronic health record systems such as SigmaCare

• Document Resident food and fluid intake

• Assist Residents with feeding and serving nutritional supplements

• Making the Resident's beds and keeping their living areas clean and tidy

• Transport Residents within the facility

• Assist nurses and other staff as needed

• Adhere to professional standards and follow all facility policies and procedures

• Abide by all federal, state and local requirements and standards

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Qualifications and Skills:

• Current and Valid NY CNA certification

• Experience in caregiving or patient care settings is highly desirable

• Familiarity with electronic health record systems SigmaCare is a plus

• Ability to work effectively within a team environment while also demonstrating independence when necessary
