Job summary

Apple Rehab West Haven is seeking a compassionate CNA to join our family-oriented team at 308 Savin Avenue, West Haven, CT. The facility emphasizes resident comfort, dignity, and a supportive work environment with a strong community focus.

Starting pay is competitive at $20/hour with a $5.00/hour differential for shifts outside the scheduled hours. Available shifts include 7a-3p, 3p-11p, and 11p-7a; per diem applicants are welcome to apply, and benefits for those over 30 hours may apply,

Qualifications

• Must hold current CNA certification.
• No history of patient/resident abuse as per State Registry.
• Proficient in reading, writing, and following oral and written instructions.
• Strong attention to detail, excellent follow-through, and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Team player with good cooperation and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrates patience, tact, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude towards residents and their support networks.

Responsibilities

• Assists residents in daily bathing, grooming, dental care, bowel and bladder functions, dressing, walking and wheelchair use.
• C.N.A. Certified Nurse’s Assistant documents personal care given according to facility policies.
• Provides nursing functions as directed including perineal care, making beds, turning residents, measures and records temperature, weight, pulse and respiration.
• C.N.A. Certified Nurse’s Assistant observes and reports to supervisor changes in residents’ condition, including any skin breakdowns.
• Reports immediately all accidents or injuries. Records all necessary charting entries.
• Answers all call lights regardless of assignment. Responds to emergency situations calmly and efficiently.
