Job summary

Apple Rehab Coccomo in Meriden, CT is seeking a compassionate CNA to provide daily resident care within a 100-bed skilled nursing community. You will assist with bathing, grooming, mobility, and basic nursing tasks while documenting care according to facility policies. We offer competitive rates starting at $20/hour.

Per diem staff are expected to fulfill (2) weekend shifts monthly. Walk-in interviews Monday through Friday 10 am to 4 pm; part-time and full-time openings available.

Qualifications

• Must hold current CNA certification.
• No history of patient abuse per State Registry.
• Proficient reading, writing and following written instructions.
• Strong attention to detail, follow-through, and ability to prioritize tasks.
• Team player with good cooperation and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrates patience, tact, enthusiasm and a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Assists residents in daily bathing, grooming, dental care, bowel and bladder functions, dressing, walking and wheelchair use.
• Documents personal care provided according to facility policies.
• Provides nursing functions as directed including perineal care, bed making, turning residents and recording vitals.
• Observes and reports changes in residents’ condition to supervisor, including skin breakdowns.
• Reports accidents or injuries immediately and records necessary charting entries.
• Responds to all call lights and emergencies calmly and efficiently.
• Answers inquiries and maintains residents’ comfort and safety.

Responsibilities:

Assists residents in daily bathing, grooming, dental care, bowel and bladder functions, dressing, walking and wheelchair use, positioning in and out of bed. C.N.A. Certified Nurse’s Assistant documents personal care given according to facility policies. Provides nursing functions as directed including perineal care, making beds, turning residents, measures and records temperature, weight, pulse and respiration. C.N.A. Certified Nurse’s Assistant observes and reports to supervisor changes in residents’ condition, including any skin breakdowns. Reports immediately all accidents or injuries. Records all necessary charting entries. Answers all call lights regardless of assignment. Responds to emergency situations calmly and efficiently.

Qualifications:

• Must hold current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in good standing.
• No history of patient/resident abuse as per State Registry.
• Proficient in reading, writing, and following oral and written instructions.
• Strong attention to detail, excellent follow-through, and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Team player with good cooperation and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrates patience, tact, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude towards residents and their support networks.

Additional Expectations:

Per diem staff are expected to fulfill (2) weekend shifts monthly to meet requirements.
