Job summary

Hospice of Marion County, a member of Empath Health, is seeking a dedicated CNA to join our team at Hospice House in Ocala and Summerfield. The role involves 12-hour weekend shifts (7am–7pm) with part-time 24 hours per week, supporting compassionate end-of-life care.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years of training/experience, a Florida CNA license, and flexibility to work at alternate facilities as needed. Eligilibility for driving between sites may apply, with mileage covered as per policy.

Qualifications

• One to Three Years of training and/or experience required.
• One year of experience in a long term care facility strongly preferred.
• Valid Florida Board of Nursing certification (CNA License).
• Valid Florida State Driver’s License (required if driving between facilities).
• Flexibility to be reassigned to alternate facilities as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with personal hygiene and maintain a safe, clean environment.
• Assist with diets and feeding as directed.
• Shampoos, shaves, and helps with bathing as requested.
• Change bed linens and assist with housekeeping/ laundry as needed.
• Perform additional duties as required to support care center operations.

Regardless of the mode chosen, both are at the colleague’s own expense, with the exception of mileage reimbursement eligibility when traveling between facilities while on company time.* Must be able to remain flexible and work at alternate facility where there is a business need for reassignment for one or more shifts at an alternative facility. When this occurs, the colleague is responsible for their own transportation to the alternate facility and at their expense. If mode of transportation is self-driving to that facility, the colleague must maintain an active, valid driver’s license and proof of valid automobile insurance, both of which will be placed in the colleague’s HR file.
