Job summary

Alameda Health System's hospital-based CNA role provides essential patient care under supervision. You will assist with meals, hygiene, mobility, vital signs, and safety, while observing and reporting changes to the nurse in charge.

Outpatient duties include exam room prep and specimen handling. A high school diploma or GED, CNA and BLS certifications, and at least six months of sub-acute or acute care experience are required. This position offers a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with training.
• Minimum six months experience in sub-acute or acute care setting.
• Current Nursing Assistant Certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.

Responsibilities

• Assists patients with meals, personal hygiene and incontinent care.
• Attends to patient comfort and safety; reports deviations to nurse.
• Sets up suction and oxygen; assists with ambulation and transfers.
• Takes vital signs and transports patients as needed.
• Provides sitter duties with one-to-one observation when required.
• Outpatient: prepares exam room, weights and documents vitals, assists clinicians; handles specimens.
