Responsibilities

• Assist RN with daily patient care including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, activity orders and ambulation, and document in EMR.
• Participate in admission, transfer and discharge under RN supervision and ensure room setup and patient belongings are managed.
• Conduct purposeful rounding and communicate patient concerns to RN with proper documentation.
• Support dietary needs, positioning, skin care, and use of devices for patient comfort.
• Collect specimens and support routine tests; maintain accuracy of labeling and records.
• Maintain infection prevention practices and use of PPE; ensure proper disposal of contaminated materials.
• Coordinate tests and treatments across departments and navigate hospital information systems.
• Facilitate communication via multi-line phones and paging; troubleshoot minor issues and arrange repairs as needed.
• Prepare chart forms for admissions, transfers and discharges; verify demographics and registration.
• Foster positive relations and respond to patient requests with courtesy and professionalism.
• Provide age-appropriate care knowledge and adapt to patient life-span needs per department standards.
