Job summary

Blakehurst is a Life Plan Community on a 40-acre Towson, MD campus near Baltimore, serving over 300 seniors. The organization seeks hospitality-focused Geriatric Nursing Assistants to join a strong, supportive team and provide compassionate personal care in a meaningful setting.

Essential duties include assisting residents with daily care, mealtime support, and timely response to call lights. Maryland RN registry and GED required, with part-time evening/night shifts and weekend rotation offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year experience as a GNA.
• Must be on the Maryland Board of Nursing State Registry.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with high-quality personal care (bathing, dressing, grooming, incontinent care, foot care, positioning, turning, monitoring vital signs).
• Assist residents with mealtime (cutting food, encouraging eating).
• Complete and document shift assignments; report if unable to complete.
• Communicate with residents, families, and leadership when needed.
• Provide planned activities as directed and respond to call lights and emergencies promptly.

Pay:$19 - 24 / hour (Based on experience)

Shifts Available in Comprehensive Care Unit:

Part-Time Shift 3:00pm-11:30pm, Every other Weekend
Part-Time Shift 11:00pm-7:30am, Every other Weekend

Shift Available in Assisted Living Unit:

Part-Time Shift 11:00pm-7:30am, Every other Tues, Fri, & Weekend

Shift Available in Memory Care Unit:

Part-Time (CNA-1/CMT) Shift 3:00pm-11:30pm, Every other Weekend

(Evening/night shift differential included)

Blakehurstis recruiting for hospitality focused Geriatric Nursing Assistants to join our team.

Essential Job Duties:

• Assist all residents with a high quality of personal care, including but not limited to; bathing, dressing, grooming, shaving, incontinent care, foot care, positioning, turning, exercising, vital signs, height and weight checks per policy.
• Assist residents with mealtime. Cut food. Encourage to eat.
• Complete and document shift assignments as assigned, if unable to complete, report to nursing supervisor.
• Communicate to residents, families, Department Leaders, and the Director of Nursing when needed.
• Provide activities as planned and/or directed.
• Respond to call lights and emergencies in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
• One (1) year experience working as a GNA.
• Must be on the Maryland Board of Nursing State Registry.

All new hires must be able to pass our preemployment screening process, which includes a fitness for duty physical, criminal background check, drug test and employment references as required by a licensed residential care facility. Some of the roles in our community also require that we request vaccination status that he/she had testing done for measles, mumps, rubella, & varicella (MMRV) to ensure immunity.
