Job Purpose
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at EHM Senior Solutions plays a crucial role in providing compassionate and high-quality care to our residents. This position is integral to ensuring the comfort, safety, and well‑being of our residents in a healthcare setting, supporting their daily needs and enhancing their quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist residents with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting.
- Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse and blood pressure, and report any changes to the nursing staff.
- Help residents with mobility and physical exercises as directed by healthcare professionals.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, fostering a nurturing and positive environment.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of residents’ rooms and common areas to ensure a safe and hygienic environment.
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding, ensuring dietary needs are met according to individual care plans.
- Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement personalized care plans.
- Respond promptly and effectively to emergency situations, following established protocols and procedures.
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge in caregiving practices.
Qualifications
Required Education
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a state‑approved Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training program.
Preferred Experience
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in long‑term care or geriatric care.
- Experience working with elderly patients or residents in a nursing home or similar environment.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with residents, families and the healthcare team.
- Ability to perform basic nursing care tasks such as bathing, dressing and feeding patients.
- Knowledge of infection control procedures and safety protocols.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a healthcare team.
- Compassionate and patient‑centered approach to care.
- Physical stamina to perform tasks such as lifting and moving patients.
