Job summary

Intertek is seeking a CMT Project Manager in Charlotte, North Carolina, to lead construction materials testing and special inspection projects across the greater Charlotte area. The role includes field engineering, data analysis, reporting, and client coordination, with opportunities to grow within the Intertek-PSI team.

The ideal candidate holds a BS in Civil Engineering, 5+ years of CMT experience, and a NC P.E. license or the ability to obtain it.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 5+ years’ experience in construction materials testing and inspection.
• North Carolina P.E. license required or ability to obtain.
• Business development and proposal management experience required.
• Prior personnel management, hiring and training experience.
• P&L responsibilities management.

Responsibilities

• Field engineering duties including data reduction, analysis and fieldwork for commercial, industrial, retail, government, and office projects.
• Assisting with project management and reporting.
• Field inspection, sampling and testing of soils, concrete, masonry, reinforcing steel, etc.
• Report preparation and report review.
• Client consultation and maintenance.
• Provide assistance to other PSI members to promote company objectives.
• Prepare proposals and perform proposal follow-up.
• Perform billing and ensure project is within budget and closeout.
• Prepare change orders and document scope changes.
• Ensure field testing and inspections are scheduled and performed correctly and keep client informed of progress.
• Train field staff on testing and inspection techniques per ASTM, ACI and guidance.
• Assist other project managers and department manager with field, lab, and office tasks.
• Dispatch technicians to projects in the area.
