Job summary

Masonic Homes Kentucky is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to administer medications for residents in a long-term care setting. You will monitor effectiveness and side effects while supporting nursing staff and ensuring compliance with laws and standards.

Role requires Kentucky CNA certification, a high school diploma or GED, and completion of an approved medication administration training program. Prior LTC experience is preferred, with strong attention to detail and teamwork emphasized.

Qualifications

• Kentucky CNA certification is required.
• High school diploma or GED required; medication administration training approved by the Commonwealth of Kentucky or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience in long-term care or senior living preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications to residents as prescribed and document administration.
• Observe, document and report effectiveness, side effects and adverse reactions to nursing staff.
• Promote and protect resident rights during medication administration.
• Store, handle and account for medications according to policy and regulations.
• Maintain accurate medication records and shift accountability.
• Obtain, document and report vital signs as indicated during medication administration.
• Follow infection control and medication safety practices.
• Inspect, clean and monitor equipment and supplies used in medication administration.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with residents, staff and leadership.
• Seek guidance from licensed staff when clinical clarification is needed.
• Assist with additional resident care duties as assigned.
