Job summary

UES, Inc. invites engineering students to join a 10-week internship bridging classroom theory with applied construction materials testing. You will rotate through soils and concrete laboratory testing and field testing, gaining insight into quality assurance for projects.

You’ll complete a capstone project and develop competencies in testing, reporting, and teamwork within engineering teams on diverse projects.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelors or Masters in Civil/Environmental/Geotechnical Engineering.
• Completion of at least two years of coursework preferred.
• Strong engineering fundamentals and interest in fieldwork and testing.

Responsibilities

• Perform soils and concrete laboratory testing tasks (Atterberg limits, sieve analyses, proctor, cylinder testing).
• Carry out field testing for soils and concrete (density, proof rolling, lime treatments, plastic concrete testing).
• Assist with ensuring quality and safety during lab and field operations.
• Support the capstone project with data collection, analysis, and presenting results.
