Job summary

Charles IT is seeking a knowledgeable CMMC Client Advisor to guide clients through compliance with CMMC requirements and develop practical strategies. You will work with client stakeholders and internal teams to assess needs, address gaps, and manage compliance roadmaps.

The role emphasizes strong communication, relationship management, and the ability to translate complex standards into actionable recommendations for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in IT consulting, cybersecurity, compliance, or technical account management.
• Demonstrated experience with CMMC compliance, NIST SP 800-171, cybersecurity frameworks, or regulatory initiatives.
• Experience working with clients and business leaders to assess requirements, communicate risks, and develop actionable strategies.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity best practices, compliance assessments, remediation planning, and security documentation.
• Industry certifications such as CCP, CCA, Security+, CISSP or similar preferred.
• Familiarity with ConnectWise and Microsoft 365 and common cybersecurity IT management tools.
• Excellent communication and relationship management skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills with ability to follow through in a fast-paced environment.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, able to manage client relationships independently; occasional 47-hour work weeks.
• Must possess a valid U.S. driver's license and pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, aligning CMMC compliance with business objectives and security requirements.
• Communicate CMMC requirements, risks, and recommendations to technical teams and executives.
• Assess client environments to identify gaps, evaluate security practices, and suggest improvements.
• Develop and maintain CMMC compliance roadmaps, track remediation, and guide readiness milestones.
• Build and maintain client relationships; be the primary contact for guidance, planning, and escalations.
• Collaborate with internal teams to define remediation priorities and support implementation.
• Lead client meetings and business reviews on progress, risks, and next steps.
• Provide guidance on compliance documentation, policies, procedures, and evidence for assessments.
• Monitor changes to CMMC requirements and inform clients of updates and recommendations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
