Job summary

Defense Unicorns seeks a customer-facing lead for CMMC engagements in the United States. You will own interpretation of NIST SP 800-171, scope, documentation, and readiness, and configure controls in Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 GCC High.

You will run kickoff meetings, create SSPs and POA&Ms, and implement hands-on controls in customer tenants, including identity, MFA, and data protection. Prior experience guiding defense contractors through CMMC Level 2 is required.

Qualifications

• Experience leading CMMC/NIST 171 for defense contractors.
• Ability to author assessor-ready docs and build evidence libraries.
• Hands-on implementation of identity, MFA, and data protection controls.

Responsibilities

• Run kickoff, working sessions, and status reporting; answer CMMC questions directly.
• Author and maintain System Security Plan, policies, POA&M, and evidence library.
• Implement technical controls hands-on in customer tenants: identity, MFA, data protection, encryption.
• Guide customers through NIST 800-171 / CMMC Level 2 end-to-end.
• Write assessor-ready documentation and implement technical controls.
• Experience with endpoint management (Intune, Jamf) and centralized logging (SIEM).
