Job summary

Actalent is seeking an experienced CMM programmer for a contract position based out of Woburn, MA. The role involves programming, setup, and hand-off of CMM operation, plus development of inspection methods for customer prototypes and collaboration with QC teams.

Ideal candidates have five years’ experience in CMM programming with PC-DMIS, strong GD&T knowledge, and the ability to mentor others on CMM operations. This is a fully onsite role with a competitive pay range.

Qualifications

• Five years minimum prior experience as a CMM programmer in a fast-paced machining environment.
• High degree of knowledge of blueprint reading, GD&T, metrology, complex inspection methods and CMM programming and operation (PC-DMIS).
• BS in an Engineering discipline a plus.
• U.S. Citizenship status is required.

Responsibilities

• Programming, set-up, and hand-off of operation of the Coordinate Measurement Machine including all aspects of part installation and orientation.
• Develop CMM inspection methodology for customer prototypes for successful manufacturing introductions.
• Determine program requirements based on design and engineering requirements.
• Review functioning of CMM tools and programming for errors, defects, or malfunctioning.
• Cross-train inspection personnel on proper operation of CMM equipment.
• Undertake routine maintenance, repairs, and programming of the machinery.
• Collaborate with QC and Inspection team.
• Keep the organization updated about latest technologies and industry standards.
