Job summary

Means Engineering, Inc. in Carlsbad seeks a hands-on CMM Programmer with expertise in OpenDMIS, PC DMIS, Verisurf, and GD&T to join a high-performance manufacturing team.

The role emphasizes problem-solving and quality-focused metrology experience in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will set up and program CMMs, perform inspections across all production stages, and support FAIRs, NCRs, and ERP documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and 3+ years of hands-on CMM programming and metrology experience.
• Proficient in Open DMIS, GD&T, inspection, and precision measurement.
• Knowledge of ISO9001, AS9100, ISO13485, ISO14001, AS9102, and FAR/DFAR.

Responsibilities

• Set-up, program, and calibrate CMM machines to inspect parts per specifications.
• Perform and document inspections at receiving, in-process, final, and shipping using precision measuring tools.
• Support First Article Inspections (FAIRs), nonconformance reporting (NCRs), and ERP documentation.
• Review and approve MRB dispositions, contribute to corrective actions, audits (AS9100, ISO 13485, ISO 14001), and quality improvements.
• Train others in measurement techniques and support cross-functional teams to meet production goals.
