Job summary

BARNES GROUP in Michigan (Lansing area) seeks an experienced CMM Programmer to create and maintain all CMM programs for production parts, fixtures, and tools. You will manage programming for Keyence handheld CMMs and the blue light system, and train staff across shifts.

You will collaborate with engineering on fixtures and tool validation strategies, ensure adherence to ISO and customer requirements, and educate employees on inspection instrument use while upholding safety and 6S practices.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in a manufacturing environment.
  • 2+ years CMM programming experience.
  • Experience reading aerospace drawings and GD&T.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain all CMM programs for production parts, fixtures and tools.
  • Maintain quality system policies and procedures to meet ISO and customer requirements related to coordinate measuring systems.
  • Manage programming of the Keyence handheld CMM, create programs and train required employees.
  • Manage all programs on the blue light and train required employees.
  • Collaborate with engineering to develop custom fixtures and tool validation strategies.
  • Educate and assess each employee’s ability to use inspection instruments.
  • Maintain safety standards and daily/weekly 6S assignments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
