Job summary

BARNES in East Granby, CT seeks an experienced CMM Programmer to support high-speed machining operations. You will program CMMs using PCDMIS, interpret GD&T prints, and develop fixtures and probing solutions to improve quality and throughput.

Qualifications

  • Requires 3+ years of CMM programming experience using PCDMIS in a high-speed machining environment.
  • Demonstrates professional attitude and passion for continuous improvement.
  • Strong time management to coordinate multiple projects.
  • Excellent oral and written communication; ability to work in a team or independently.

Responsibilities

  • Program multiple CMMs supporting various machining processes and products.
  • Provide formatted reports for engineering, CNC programs and operators.
  • Interpret prints developed with GD&T standards.
  • Edit legacy CMM programs and develop fixturing solutions as required.
  • Develop SPC feedback software for quality and operators.
  • Use Six Sigma tools and root-cause analysis for troubleshooting.
  • Mentor entry level personnel in CMM operation.
  • Pursue new manufacturing technology and process improvements to enhance capabilities.
  • Perform CMM inspection as needed.
  • Inspect with micrometers, calipers and swing gages.
  • Ensure compliance with all laws and internal policies.
