Job summary

Trelleborg seeks a CMM Programmer/Metrology Specialist to write and optimize CMM routines from CAD data, applying GD&T per ASME Y14.5 to establish datum frames. You will design fixtures, perform FAI per AS9102, and generate reports for the QMS.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in precision QC, 3+ years creating CMM programs from CAD, and experience with CMM Manager/PC-DMIS in regulated industries such as aerospace or automotive. On-site in the United States.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years hands-on QC inspection in a precision manufacturing environment.
• Minimum 3+ years creating and modifying CMM programs from 3D CAD data.
• Experience in regulated manufacturing industries (aerospace/defense/medical devices/automotive).
• Advanced GD&T mastery per ASME Y14.5; proficient in CMM software (CMM Manager, PC-DMIS).

Responsibilities

• Write, debug, and maintain offline and online CMM inspection routines from CAD models.
• Apply GD&T per ASME Y14.5 to establish datum frames and measurement alignment.
• Design fixtures and probing setups for repeatable inspections.
• Perform First Article Inspections per AS9102 and verify dimensional data.
• Generate inspection records, dimensional reports, and NC reports in the QMS.
• Maintain CMM programs under QMS configuration control; log revisions.
• Collaborate with QA, tooling, and manufacturing to troubleshoot defects.
• Assist in Gage R&R studies and metrology audits.
• Oversee CMM maintenance and probe qualification.
