Job summary

Ultra Machining Company seeks a CMM Programmer I to develop, validate, and execute CMM/VCMM inspection programs under senior metrology leadership. You will support program prove-out, documentation, and continuous improvement of measurement processes at the Monticello, MN facility.

The role requires reading blueprints with GD&T, programming proficiency, and collaboration with engineering, quality, and production teams to ensure high-accuracy parts while adhering to UMC Quality Standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Technical degree in metrology, manufacturing, or related field preferred; equivalent advanced industry experience may be considered.
• Demonstrated knowledge of CMM or automated inspection systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and apply GD&T requirements.
• Experience with Calypso or PC-Dmis preferred.
• CNC machining experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development of CMM and VCMM inspection programs under senior guidance.
• Review CMM/VCMM outputs for quality compliance.
• Support first-time prove-out activities for CMM and VCMM programs.
• Troubleshoot automated inspection equipment, software, hardware, and fixturing.
• Perform automated inspection equipment tasks per schedule.
• Ensure programs comply with Customer Standards, Industry Standards, and UMC Best Practices.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Production staff.
• Assist in documenting setup instructions for automated inspections.
