Job summary

SpaceX in Redmond seeks a CMM Programmer for Starlink on the 2nd shift. The role focuses on precision inspection and GD&T compliance across parts and assemblies in the Starlink development machining area.

You will collaborate with machinists, leads, and engineering teams to improve accuracy and part success rates, creating and maintaining CMM programs and inspection plans. A cleanroom environment is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
• 3+ years of CMM programming experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform precision inspection (CMM or surface plate) verification on mechanical parts, components, assemblies and materials.
• Understand GD&T requirements as applied to the engineering drawing and drawing notes.
• Spot interpretation issues as applied to dimensions written or evaluation to requirements.
• Select and utilize standard gauges to ensure quality; inspect feature tolerances by selecting the tool with required accuracy.
• Create, maintain, verify, retain, sort and organize all programs for current revision.
• Work with cross functional teams to improve processes and specifications for precision inspection.
• Assist engineering with making part inspection plans.
• Identify engineering, design, GD&T issues and errors creating ambiguity in manufacturing.
