Job summary

Zygo Corporation in Richmond, CA is seeking a Metrology Technician (CMM) to support high-precision dimensional inspection of complex optical components and assemblies. You will set up and run CMMs, analyze data, and collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, and Engineering to ensure product conformance and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 5 years of related precision manufacturing, dimensional inspection, quality, or metrology experience.
• 4 years of experience programming and operating CMM equipment (Brown & Sharpe, Leitz and/or Zeiss preferred).
• Thorough understanding of GD&T in accordance with ASME/ANSI Y14.5.

Responsibilities

• Set up, validate, and operate CMMs using software such as Zeiss CALYPSO, PC-DMIS, QUINDOS, or equivalent metrology platforms.
• Perform first article, in-process, receiving, and final dimensional inspections, verify product conformance to drawings, specifications, and geometric tolerances (interpreting and applying GD&T requirements).
• Analyze inspection data, identify dimensional trends or nonconformances.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, and Planning to ensure product conformance, process control, and on-time delivery.
• Document inspection results, maintain quality records, and generate inspection reports.
