CMM Metrology Quality SupervisorA day in this roleYou start your shift by converting fresh customer specifications into robust CMM programs for new program launches. With Engineering and Set-up at your side, you verify first-off parts against requirements and move swiftly to secure first piece approvals (FPA) so production can proceed with confidence.Throughout the day, you perform CMM and technical layout inspections, maintain the Q Number Log for completed part inspections, and keep the Quality Lab organized and audit-ready. Documentation matters, so you file and label all quality records precisely in the assigned area. You lead layered process audits (LPAs), support final audits, drive gage R&R studies, and coordinate gage calibration. When needed, you set up shop-floor gauging and jump into quality problem solving—root cause, corrective actions, and cross-functional support. You keep communication flowing between shifts, share the QA supervisor’s line-up with nightshift personnel, oversee completion of afternoon shift tasks, and report shift activities back to the QA supervisor.Safety and stewardship are non-negotiable: you adhere to housekeeping standards, Safety (lockout/tagout), and Environmental requirements (recycling, labeling, spills, and programs). Every day, you surface continuous improvement ideas across safety, productivity, quality, and housekeeping—and pitch in on any other duties your Supervisor defines. What you’ll contributeWrite and optimize CMM programs for new program launches from customer specs.Partner with Engineering and Set-up to validate conformance on new launches.Execute CMM or technical layout inspections as required.Maintain the Q Number Log for complete part inspections.Ensure timely completion of FPA (first piece approval) parts.Organize the Lab and uphold strict housekeeping.File and label all Quality documents in the assigned area.Perform LPAs; assist with final audits, gage R&R studies, and gage calibration.Set up gauging as needed.Engage in problem solving and corrective actions; support other departments.Communicate internal quality information between shifts.Share QA supervisor line-up with nightshift personnel.Oversee completion of assigned afternoon shift tasks.Report shift activities to the QA supervisor.Follow Housekeeping, Safety (lockout/tagout), and Environmental requirements (recycling, labeling, spills, and programs).Promote continuous improvement in safety, productivity, quality, and housekeeping.Comply with housekeeping, safety, and environmental policies.Other duties as defined by your Supervisor.Profile we’re looking forEducation: High School minimum (no specific degree required)Experience: 1–2 years in machining/automotiveSkills and proficienciesGeometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T), SPCQuality systems and proceduresBlueprint readingCMM, M&M, Comparator, and Contracer proficiencyLab measurement equipment and shop-floor gagesLeadership with clear, effective communicationSchedule & performance expectationsSaturdays & Sundays as scheduledSupport day shift as scheduled by ManagerPerformance indicators: attendance, dependability, task completionQuality impact: customer score cards & scrap percentageBenefits401(k)Dental insuranceHealth insuranceVision insurance
