Job summary

Lakeside Recruiting Solutions in Laurens, SC seeks a CMM Lab & Quality Supervisor to ensure metrology-driven quality in production. You will work closely with manufacturing, select testing equipment, and drive quality from development through serial production.

The role requires extensive metrology experience, CMM programming (PC-DMIS/Calypso), and familiarity with automotive quality standards. On-site position with opportunities to optimize processes and train staff.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Specialized training and extensive experience in metrology.
• Programming experience using PC-DMIS or Calypso.
• Knowledge of machining and casting of components is beneficial.
• Experience in the automotive industry and associated technical and quality requirements.

Responsibilities

• Plan and carry out measurements for monitoring of serial production.
• Carrying out and evaluating capability studies and cleanliness tests.
• Plan and implement metrological methods.
• Quality planning in product development stages.
• Participate in handling customer complaints.
• Train staff in metrology.
• Program and set up CMMs and design fixtures.
• Organize and manage FMEA meetings in development and production phases.
• Coordinate gauge management system testing and provisioning.
• Create and coordinate test plans and modifications.
• Plan maintenance of measuring equipment.
• Provide metrological support to setups and CNC optimization.
• Plan and perform sampling (PPAP).

Job description

The CMM Lab & Quality Supervisor will work closely with production and use the appropriate testing/measuring equipment to ensure quality products are manufactured and supplied in accordance with customer requirements.

Responsibilities

• Planning and carrying out measurements for monitoring of the serial production.
• Carrying out and evaluating capability studies and cleanliness tests.
• Planning and implementation of metrological method.
• Quality planning in the product development stage.
• Participating in the handling of customer complaints.
• Training of staff in matters of metrology.
• Programming and set up of CMMs and design of fixtures.
• Organization and management of FMEA meetings in the product development and serial production phases.
• Monitoring, provisioning, testing, and coordination of the gauge management system.
• Test plan creation, coordination, and modification.
• Planning of maintenance of the measuring equipment.
• Metrological support of set ups and optimization of CNC machines.
• Planning and carrying out of sampling (PPAP).
