Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking a technically hands-on CMDB and Asset Discovery specialist in Evanston, IL. You will drive requirements gathering, evaluate asset discovery tools, and stand up a robust CMDB within ServiceNow, coordinating with SNOW admins and consultants for technical work.

The role requires ITIL certification, 5+ years in Configuration Management, and extensive ServiceNow expertise. Expect hybrid on-site work with some travel for training and collaboration.

Qualifications

• ITIL certification required.
• 5+ years of Configuration Management experience.
• Extensive experience with ServiceNow.
• Proven CMDB implementation in a complex enterprise.
• Experience maintaining CMDB and IT Operations Management.
• Knowledge of Cloud hosting environments (Azure, Oracle).
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
• Experience with Asset Discovery Tools and integrating them across hosting environments.
• Ability to design CI classes, CI relationships and service models.
• Develop governance, operational procedures and training documentation.

Responsibilities

• Discovery: document requirements for an Asset Discovery tool and compare tools.
• Implement Asset Discovery Tool: create a project plan and coordinate integrations into ServiceNow.
• CMDB setup: configure ServiceNow CMDB and link incidents/requests/changes to CIs.
• Documentation and Training: create technical docs and training materials and conduct trainings.
• Operationalization: establish a 1-year lifecycle maintenance roadmap and quarterly updates.
