  • Create and oversee systems for tracking student progress and data management for the program.
  • Determine, design, customize, and utilize appropriate assessment tools to allow effective evaluation of various educational and programmatic components.
  • Utilize findings to implement formative changes to the program and provide summative evaluations.
  • Work with assessment entities to create reports for NIH funded training grants.
  • Train and manage student employees.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Job Description Position Summary:

The CMB Program Manager is responsible for admissions, recruitment, record keeping, student support, coordination with campus partners, event planning, and budget management for the CMB program. The CMB Manager directly supports the Director of CMB, and is the only administrative support for the approx. 50 Graduate Students enrolled in the program and housed in departments across campus.

Essential Job Duties:
  • Make budget recommendations, decisions, and administer grants both individually and collaboratively depending on the respective grant. Including but not limited to budget design, tracking participation, training, mentoring & development plans, overseeing logistics, managing deliverables, and collecting data for annual renewal applications.
  • Facilitate recruitment and retention of students from all backgrounds through work with student groups and associations, collaboration on symposiums, monthly meetings, and outreach.
  • Create and oversee systems for tracking student progress and data management for the program.
  • Determine, design, customize, and utilize appropriate assessment tools to allow effective evaluation of various educational and programmatic components.
  • Utilize findings to implement formative changes to the program and provide summative evaluations.
  • Work with assessment entities to create reports for NIH funded training grants.
  • Train and manage student employees.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Conditions of Employment:

Pre-employment Criminal Background Check (required for new hires).

Travel - some travel may be required.

Supervises 1-5 student employees (.25 to 2.5 fte per week)

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree plus 3 years’ experience in educational management.
  • Experience with budget and/or program administration including demonstrated ability to make day-to-day project decisions, business administration, marketing, recruitment, and on-going program development.
  • Demonstrate organizational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrate written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to and experience in supporting diverse student populations.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • MS in business, higher education, STEM, accountancy or related field.
  • Experience working with students in a higher education setting to provide academic advising or conducting student development activities such as orientation, leadership development or career services.
  • Experience with Interdisciplinary graduate programs.
  • Knowledge of CSU programs, processes, systems and personnel.
  • Knowledge of NIH systems for grant administration.

Salary Range 58,000 to 60,000
