Job summary

Piedmont in Georgia is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians and APPs with patient care, under supervision, following established guidelines. A GED or high school diploma is preferred, with either a Medical Assistant program graduate or Nursing Assistant program completion required.

Experience may substitute education in some cases, with related clinical work considered. Required certifications include BCLS and CMA-AAMA or NCMA-NCTT.

Qualifications

• GED or high school diploma preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or completion of a Nursing Assistant program required.
• In lieu of formal education, one year of medical assistant or related clinical experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provide a variety of patient care activities under the supervision of a physician, APP, or RN.
• Follow established guidelines and standards in patient care.

Qualifications

Education

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Preferred and
• Graduate of an accredited an accredited Medical Assistant program or completion of a Nursing Assistant program Required or
• In Lieu of formal education program, one (1) year of medical assistant or related clinical experience Required

Work Experience

• No experience required Required or
• In lieu of degree one (1) year of medical assistant or related clinical experience Required

Licenses and Certifications

• BCLS - Basic Life Support Required and
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)-AAMA Certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or a similarly recognized certifying organization Required or
