Job summary

San Luis Valley Health in Alamosa, CO is seeking a full-time Certified Medical Assistant to support the Monte Vista Clinic. You will perform clerical tasks, take vitals, update patient records, manage appointments, and assist providers with treatments and specimen collection.

Eligible candidates must graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program within 12 months of hire, and possess or be pursuing BLS certification. Prior reception/clinical experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Graduation within 12 months of hire from an accredited Medical Assistant Program.
• BLS required.
• Prior medical reception and/or clinical experience and familiarity with medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with clerical duties such as answering phones and greeting patients.
• Update and maintain patient files and medical records
• Schedule appointments and manage provider schedules
• Take vitals, explain treatment procedures, collect and prepare lab specimens
• Authorize prescription refills and manage prescriptions with pharmacies
• Sterilize medical equipment and maintain a clean working space

Salary Range: $16.17 To $24.04 Hourly

Medical Assistant Wage Range: $16.17 - $21.81 / hour

Certified Medical Assistant Wage Range: $17.22 - $24.04 / hour

What You'll Need:
