Job summary

The Certified Medical Assistant reports to the Outpatient Clinic Manager and assists in examinations by taking vital signs, interviewing patients, and recording data in the medical record. You will prepare treatment rooms and support physicians during patient encounters.

Required and preferred qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of an accredited medical assisting program, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited medical assisting program.
• One year of patient care experience preferred.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA/CCMA/NAHP/NCCT) certification accepted.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients, measure vital signs (pulse, temperature, BP, weight, height) and input data into the medical record.
• Prepare treatment rooms for examination and assist physicians during patient encounters.
• Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Maintain basic computer skills and annual competencies.
