Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited medical assisting program.
• One year of patient care experience preferred.
• Six months CMA/RMA experience required.
• Certified through AMT/AAMA/NHA/MedCA as CMA/CCMA/NAHP/NCCT.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification or Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers.

Responsibilities

• Assists in examination and treatment of patients under physician direction.
• Interviews patients, measures vital signs and records information in the medical record.
• Prepares treatment rooms and maintains exam room supplies.
• Triages patients and assists with scheduling of appointments and referrals based on urgency and availability.
• Observes and reports patient condition and medications to the physician; instructs patient on treatment and/or medication as ordered.
• Administers prescribed treatments and assists with exams and procedures.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent.

Completion of an accredited medical assisting program.

One (1) year of patient care experience preferred.

Six (6) months of CMA/RMA experience required.

Certification through AMT or AAMA or NHA or MedCA as CMA/CCMA/NAHP/NCCT.

Current AHA BLS certification.
