Job summary

College of Pastoral Supervision and Psychotherapy seeks a qualified medical support professional to prepare patients for exams, obtain vital signs, and assist clinicians with procedures. Ideal candidates have LPN training or credentialing and experience with medical office operations.

Experience with Epic EMR, strong communication skills, and knowledge of medical and insurance terminology are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Graduate of LPN program with current license.
• Graduate from accredited Medical Assistant program with active registration or certification (RMA/CMA).
• Associates degree preferred, but not required.
• Three years clinical experience in a physician's office highly preferred.
• Experience with Epic EMR, office skills, medical terminology and insurance terminology preferred.

Overview

Obtain vital signs and general health information for patient chart and prepares patient for examination. Assists the provider as needed with examinations and procedures. Assists in the collection of laboratory specimens and performance of tests on patients as ordered by the provider or arranges for patient testing, admissions and referrals. Enters and records patient information in charts in a concise and accurate manner.

Qualifications

• LPN-Must be a graduate of LPN program and have a current license.
• RMA/CMA-Must be a graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program and hold an active registration or certification.
• Associates Degree preferred, but not required. Three years clinical experience in a physician's office highly preferred.
• Experience with the Epic EMR, office skills, knowledge of medical terminology, and insurance terminology is preferred. Excellent communication and computer skills required. Self-starter, highly motivated candidate with friendly, outgoing personality, and excellent customer service skills required. Extensive knowledge of various health insurance plans preferred.
