Qualifications

We are hiring a full-time Certified Medical Assistant in Pittston, PA. Must be able to draw blood.

Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:30 PM (shift may vary slightly).

Position Summary

The Certified Medical Assistant engages with patients by assisting with care, recording vital information, and providing guidance to ensure patients fully benefit from our services, following Axia Women’s Health protocols and physicians’ guidance. Responsibilities include:

  • Patient Care:
    • Maintain accurate patient records, including medical history and vital signs.
    • Manage patient flow to minimize wait times and communicate delays.
    • Assist patients with transfers, dressing, specimen collection, and preparation for exams.
    • Gather patient histories and assist providers with procedures and screenings.
    • Communicate instructions and information to patients and families.
  • Patient Records:
    • Handle lab reports, imaging, and hospital notes to ensure complete patient history.
    • Complete necessary forms and requisitions for accurate billing and records.
    • Adhere to confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.
  • Quality Control and OSHA:
    • Prepare instruments and clean rooms per protocols.
    • Maintain infection control standards and sterilization schedules.
    • Restock supplies and maintain equipment.
    • Follow OSHA guidelines to ensure safety and quality.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED; college preferred.
  • Current certification (RMA, CCMA, NCMA) and CPR certification.
  • At least 1 year of recent experience in a medical setting or completed internship.
  • Experience with eClinical Works is a plus.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams.
