Job description

We are hiring a full-time Certified Medical Assistant in Pittston, PA. Must be able to draw blood.

Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:30 PM (shift may vary slightly).

Position Summary

The Certified Medical Assistant engages with Axia Women’s Health patients by assisting with care, recording vital information, and providing guidance on clinical services, following Axia protocols and physician instructions. Responsibilities include:

  1. Patient Care:
  2. Maintain accurate patient records, including medical history and vital signs, and scan related documents.
  3. Manage schedules and patient flow to minimize wait times and communicate delays effectively.
  4. Assist patients in exam/procedure rooms, including transfers, dressing, specimen collection, and preparation.
  5. Gather patient histories and support providers during procedures and screenings.
  6. Communicate instructions and information to patients and families.

Patient Records:

  1. Handle medical records, lab/X-ray reports, and hospital notes to ensure comprehensive patient histories.
  2. Complete necessary forms and requisitions for accurate billing and record-keeping.
  3. Comply with confidentiality policies and HIPAA regulations.

Quality Control and OSHA:

  1. Set up instruments and equipment per protocols, clean rooms and equipment, and restock supplies.
  2. Follow OSHA guidelines and quality control procedures to ensure high standards of patient care.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED; some college preferred.
  • Current national certification (RMA, CCMA, NCMA) and CPR certification.
  • At least 1 year of recent experience in a medical facility or documented internship in a medical office.
  • Experience with eClinical Works is a plus.
