Job summary

UAB Medicine in Birmingham, AL is seeking a part-time Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our interdisciplinary outpatient care teams. CMAs are key partners to physicians, nurses, and other staff, providing essential support to ensure a quality patient experience.

The CMA will prepare patients for exams, perform basic lab tests, obtain medical histories, and assist with routine procedures in a fast-paced environment. Training and career growth are encouraged.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• CMA or CCMA certification is required.
• Current CPR certification is required or must be obtained within 30 days.
• Pediatrics experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical procedures to prep patients for treatment or research.
• Assist physicians and healthcare team with treatment/protocol completion.
• Perform simple, non-invasive patient procedures per policy.
• Potentially perform clerical and/or lab duties as requested.
• Respond to the needs of patients from newborn to geriatric.
