Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our outpatient care team. You will organize patient records, support physicians and nurses, and assist with exams and basic lab tasks in a fast-paced setting.

The ideal candidate holds CMA certification (AAMA or NHA) and CPR certification, with flexibility for full-time, M-F 8am-5pm shifts. Training and career advancement opportunities, including a CMA ladder, are available.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Currently certified as CMA by AAMA or CCMA by NHA required.
• Certification by another agency must be obtained within six months.
• Current CPR certification required or obtained within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Organize and maintain patient records and provide clinical nursing support.
• Prepare patients for exams, perform basic lab tests, and obtain medical histories.
