Job summary

UAB Medicine in Birmingham, AL seeks a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our interdisciplinary outpatient care teams. Under supervision, CMAs support physicians, nurses, and other staff by preparing patients for exams, performing basic lab tests, and maintaining accurate records.

The ideal candidate holds CMA or CCMA certification and CPR, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and communicates with diverse patients.

Qualifications

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) required.
• CPR certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
• High School diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Assist physician or healthcare team with treatment/protocol.
• Prepare patients for exams and basic lab tests.
• Maintain and organize patient records.
• Support clinical, nursing, and administrative tasks.
• Respond to needs of patients from newborn to geriatric.
