Job summary

Galen Medical Group East Internal Medicine in Chattanooga region is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join our team. The role involves floating 2 1/2 days per week with designated NP and other Adult Providers, with a full 4 1/2 day schedule on-site.

Lab experience is required; responsibilities include patient prep, vital signs, EMR data entry, and coordinating referrals and testing. Strong customer service and teamwork are essential in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must be a Certified Medical Assistant from a nationally accredited program.
• Minimum 1 year of medical assistant experience if completion of a MA program is not met.
• CPR/BLS certification is required.
• Electronic Medical Record experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the provider with patient visits and examinations.
• Prepare patients for examination and record vital signs.
• Prepare and stock examination rooms, sterilize instruments.
• Schedule outpatient testing, procedures, or surgeries; manage referrals.
• Enter patient data into the EMR accurately; maintain records.
• Triage patient calls per site protocol and handle prescriptions.
