Job summary

ChildServe in Johnston, IA seeks a PRN CNA to support our Inpatient Complex Medical program, delivering around-the-clock, family-centered care for teens and young adults with complex medical needs.

You will follow individualized care plans, assist with bathing, mobility, grooming, and daily activities, document care accurately, and collaborate with nurses and therapists to ensure each patient’s comfort, safety, and progress.

Qualifications

• Active DIA CNA certification in Iowa.
• BLS certification within 90 days before independent work.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and mobility in the work area.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.

Job description

Join our compassionate team as a PRN CNA in our Inpatient Complex Medical program, where we provide around-the-clock care in a warm, family-centered environment. We support individuals aged 15-30 who are unable to live at home due to their complex medical need, helping each child thrive in a safe and caring setting.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Assist with daily care routines including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility while honoring each child’s privacy and dignity.
• Follow individualized care plans and collaborate with nurses and therapists to ensure each child’s unique needs are met.
• Help children look and feel their best by maintaining cleanliness, comfort, and readiness for scheduled activities.
• Support families by sharing updates and reinforcing care techniques that promote each child’s progress and well-being.
• Accurately document care provided and maintain compliance with ChildServe policies and professional standards.

What You’ll Need

• Active DIA certification as a nursing assistant in the state of Iowa.
• Must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through American Red Cross or American Heart Association within 90 days and before working independently.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs, be mobile within the assigned work area, and frequently bend, lift, reach, and stand.
• Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.
