Job summary

Child Serve seeks compassionate staff to join its Inpatient Complex Medical program, providing around-the-clock care for youths aged 15–30 with complex medical needs in a family-centered setting.

Responsibilities include assisting with daily care, following care plans with nurses and therapists, and documenting care while upholding privacy and dignity. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, retirement with company match, and generous PTO.

Qualifications

• Active DIA certification as a nursing assistant in Iowa.
• Within 90 days, obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from ARC or AHA.
• Able to lift up to 35 lbs and be mobile, with frequent bending, lifting, reaching and standing.
• Read, write and speak English proficiently.

• Assist with daily care routines including bathing, dressing, grooming and mobility.
• Follow individualized care plans and collaborate with nurses and therapists.
• Maintain cleanliness, comfort and readiness for activities.

Job description

Join our compassionate team in our I npatient Complex Medical program, where we provide around-the-clock care in a warm, family-centered environment. We support individuals aged 15-30 who are unable to live at home due to their complex medical needs, helping each individual thrive in a safe and caring setting.

Schedule

• 3 shifts per week, 6:00am-6:00pm, every 3rd weekend
• Benefit eligible, including medical, dental, vision plans, retirement with company match and generous PTO accrual, including 16 hours of PTO front-loaded

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Assist with daily care routines including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility while honoring each child’s privacy and dignity.
• Follow individualized care plans and collaborate with nurses and therapists to ensure each child’s unique needs are met.
• Help children look and feel their best by maintaining cleanliness, comfort, and readiness for scheduled activities.
• Support families by sharing updates and reinforcing care techniques that promote each child’s progress and well-being.
• Accurately document care provided and maintain compliance with ChildServe policies and professional standards.

What You’ll Need

• Active DIA certification as a nursing assistant in the state of Iowa.
• Must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through American Red Cross or American Heart Association within 90 days and before working independently.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs, be mobile within the assigned work area, and frequently bend, lift, reach, and stand.
• Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.
