Job summary

ChildServe is seeking a PRN CNA or CMA (Certified Medication Aide) for our Pediatric Inpatient Complex Medical program in Johnston, IA. You will assist with daily care routines, follow individualized plans, and support families in a warming, family-centered setting.

The position requires Iowa DIA CNA certification, BLS within 90 days, ability to lift 35 lbs, and proficient English communication. Schedule includes day, night, and weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• Active DIA CNA certification in Iowa.
• BLS certification within 90 days of start date.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and be mobile within the unit.
• English reading, writing and speaking proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily care routines (bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility) while preserving privacy and dignity.
• Follow care plans and collaborate with nurses and therapists to meet each child’s needs.
• Keep children clean, comfortable, and ready for activities.
• Support families by sharing updates and reinforcing care techniques.
• Accurately document provided care and comply with policies and standards.

Job description

Join us as a PRN CNA or CMA (Certified Medication Aide) in our Pediatric Inpatient Complex Medical program, where we provide around-the-clock care in a warm, family-centered environment. We support individuals, infant through age 14,who are unable to live at home due to their complex medical needs, helping each individual thrive in a safe and caring setting.

Schedule

• PRN
• Day, Nights or Weekends
• 6am-6:30pm or 6:00pm-6:30am

• Assist with daily care routines including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility while honoring each child’s privacy and dignity.
• Follow individualized care plans and collaborate with nurses and therapists to ensure each child’s unique needs are met.
• Help children look and feel their best by maintaining cleanliness, comfort, and readiness for scheduled activities.
• Support families by sharing updates and reinforcing care techniques that promote each child’s progress and well-being.
• Accurately document care provided and maintain compliance with ChildServe policies and professional standards.

What You’ll Need

• Active DIA certification as a nursing assistant in the state of Iowa.
• Must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through American Red Cross or American Heart Association within 90 days and before working independently.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs, be mobile within the assigned work area, and frequently bend, lift, reach, and stand.
• Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.
