Job summary

UAB Medicine in Hoover, AL is seeking a part-time Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our outpatient care teams. You will support physicians, nurses, and staff by preparing patients for exams, taking histories, performing basic lab tests, and maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• CMA certification (AAMA) or CCMA certification (NHA) required; if certified by another agency, must obtain AAMA or NHA within 6 months of employment.
• Current CPR certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for exams and procedures.
• Assist physicians and nursing staff with clinical tasks and patient care.
• Maintain accurate and organized patient records and documentation.
• Perform basic non-invasive lab tests as directed and obtain medical histories.
