Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join its interdisciplinary outpatient care teams. The CMA will organize and maintain patient records, assist with clinical nursing support tasks, and interact with physicians, nurses, and staff to ensure a quality patient experience.

The ideal candidate will be certified (CMA or CCMA), CPR certified (or obtain within 30 days), and able to work in a fast-paced environment with compassionate patient care across all ages.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) certification required.
• Current CPR certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Organize and maintain patient records and provide clinical nursing support tasks.
• Prepping patients for exams, performing basic lab tests, and obtaining medical histories.
• Assist physician or other healthcare team member with completion of treatment/protocol.
• Respond to the needs of patients across the age spectrum from newborn to geriatric.
