Qualifications

  • Six months of experience in a retirement community is preferred.

Job description

Certified Medication Aides (CMAs) are caring and compassionate individuals who administer and dispense medication, provide personal care, and assist our residents in maintaining their independence.

This position is eligible for Baylor pay. Employees who work both Saturday and Sunday, arrive on time, complete their full shifts, and finish all required charting will be compensated an additional 8 hours per week (paid for 40 hours while working 32). Base pay: $15–$16/hour.

Shift Details

The following shifts are available:

Evening Shift: Monday - Friday, 1:45pm - 10:15pm (base pay with a shift differential = $18 - $19 / hourly)

Responsibilities
  • Administer and accurately record the administration of medications as prescribed by a resident's physician(s) in accordance with company policy and applicable state and federal guidelines under the supervision of a nurse
  • Obtain, record, and report resident vital signs
  • Manage the supply of medications
  • Provide accounting for all medications ordered, received, stored, and administered
  • Care for the personal needs, safety, and comfort of our residents
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living including wardrobe, personal hygiene, and mobility
  • Observe and report changes in residents' condition and status
  • Conduct rounds to monitor for hazards or incidents
  • Assist in dining including escorting residents to the dining room, serving, and clean-up

Education:

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Certified Medication Aide (CMA) for the State of Oklahoma (NOT MEDICAL ASSISTANT)

Experience:

  • Six months of work experience in a retirement community setting is preferred
  • Candidate must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively with residents, families, guests, and other associates in English
  • The ideal candidate will be caring, organized, and able to multi-task
