Franciscan Alliance, Inc. in Lafayette, IN is seeking a qualified Medical Assistant to support cardiology and outpatient care. You will room patients, take vitals, document in EMR, administer vaccines and injections, perform phlebotomy, and assist with prior authorizations under supervision.

Requirements include high school or GED, accredited MA program or associates in LPN, BLS, and CMA/RMA/NCMA/CCMA certification within 6 months of hire. Sign-on bonus may be available.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of accredited Medical Assisting program or Associates in LPN required.
• Minimum 5 years Medical Assisting experience may substitute for formal education.
• BLS certification required.
• Certification within 6 months of hire required.
• CMA, RMA, NCMA, or CCMA certifications preferred or required.

Responsabilités

• Room patients, take vitals, and obtain comprehensive medical history.
• Document care in electronic medical record system.
• Administer vaccines, injections, and medications.
• Perform phlebotomy and point-of-care testing.
• Medication reconciliation under supervision of RN/Provider.
• Assist with referrals, prior authorizations, and sample medications as directed.

Formation

Medical Assisting Program certification or Associates in LPN

5 years Medical Assisting experience in lieu of education

Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association

Certification within 6 months of hire

• Provide a more personal approach to direct patient care in a variety of outpatient settings, which may include: rooming patients, taking vitals, obtaining a comprehensive medical history, document care of patient via electronic medical record, administering vaccines, injections, and medications, phlebotomy, point of care testing and medication reconciliation under the supervision of RN/Provider.
• Gather requirements from internal and external customers and provide information via phone, electronic messaging and in person.
• Initiate and follow through on prior authorizations, referrals, and process sample medications, prescriptions, and refills as directed.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Required High School Diploma/GED
• Required completion of accredited Medical Assisting Program or Associates in LPN Required
• 5 years Medical Assisting experience in lieu of education
• Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association
• Required certification within 6 months of hire
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) - American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or
• Medical Assistant (RMA) - American Medical Technologists (AMT) or
• Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) - American Registry of Medical Assistants or
• National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) - National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) or
• Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) - National Healthcare Association (NHA)
