Job summary

Phaxis in the Charlotte area is seeking a certified Medical Assistant to join a busy outpatient primary care practice in Waxhaw, NC. You will room patients, record vitals, assist with examinations, perform EKGs and phlebotomy, and support a collaborative healthcare team.

A CMA with current BLS and an accredited program is required; minimal 1 year experience preferred. This is a full-time role in a stable outpatient setting offering daytime hours and opportunities for growth within a trusted

Qualifications

• Current CMA certification.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assisting program (CAAHEP/ABHES).
• Current BLS certification.
• Minimum 1 year of Medical Assistant experience or completed medical-office externship.
• Experience with EKGs, phlebotomy, injections, and vital signs.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Experience working with electronic medical records.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, take vitals, and document medical histories.
• Assist physicians and providers with examinations and minor procedures.
• Perform EKGs, blood draws, injections, and specimen collection.
• Complete CLIA-waived testing and patient screenings.
• Manage patient calls, medication refills, and prior authorizations.
• Coordinate referrals, laboratory results, and follow-up appointments.
• Maintain accurate EHR documentation.
• Prepare examination rooms and maintain medical supplies.
• Provide occasional coverage at nearby office locations.
