Responsibilities

Central Market is seeking a Production Specialist with availability to include days, evenings, and weekends to handle the freshest quality ingredients. Production Specialists work under direct supervision and will apply basic and some advanced skills in procedures, techniques, tools, materials, and/or equipment appropriate to their area of specialization. They will accept responsibility for achieving goals/objectives using specialized subject matter knowledge.

Duties of this position may include:

1. Mixing, shaping, baking, wrapping, and stocking of products
2. Ensuring quality control of all products before sending to the sales floor
3. Maintaining sanitation in the department
4. Maintaining organization of back storage, freezer, walk-in, and production area
5. Reading and executing daily production list
6. Calculating figures and amounts such as weights, discounts, percentages, and volumes
7. Providing customer service as required, such as answering questions and taking orders on the phone
8. Assisting in monitoring the quality of goods and monitoring shrink
9. Ordering and receiving products and supplies
10. Maintaining transfer records
11. Prepping, wrapping, pricing, selling, and stocking products continuously
12. Demos or preparing customer samples for self-serve
13. Providing superlative customer service
14. Using suggestive selling techniques to maximize sales

Requirements

• Demonstrates and shares expertise about food
• Experience with commercial production preferred
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to handle stressful situations

• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Lift and carry moderate to heavy loads (minimum of 50 lbs.) and bend, reach, push, and pull
• Ability to work overnight and flexible schedules (days, evenings, weekends, and holidays)
